RC4G Peterborough is a small organization that has been successful because of the amazing support we’ve had from volunteers, camper parents, musicians, music stores, performance venues and others in the community. There are many ways that you can help us keep the Rock Camp experience alive for youth in the Peterborough area and beyond.

There are lots of opportunities to help out at summer camp! We rely on volunteers to assist with everything from hauling gear and tuning guitars before camp starts to teaching instrument lessons and leading workshops. At Rock Camp it can be loud, chaotic and sometimes frustrating, but it can also be a very rewarding opportunity to work with youth who are exploring their expressive and creative selves.

Please note that volunteers working directly with campers must be female, non-binary or trans. Male allies are welcome to help out with non-front line aspects of camp..

We encourage former rock campers or other qualified youth aged 14-18 interested in continuing their involvement with RC4G to apply as volunteer camp interns. Under the supervision of staff, interns work on-site to assist with the day-to-day operations of camp and to help enhance the experience for campers. Tasks at camp may include running sound during band practices, supervising lunch, organizing and presenting a camper workshop, assisting with administrative tasks or helping organize and present the Big Gig. In some cases, intern hours at Rock Camp may count towards high school community service requirements.

In order to become an intern, you must apply, attend an interview and obtain a police record check before camp starts. Interns must be available to attend a volunteer orientation session before camp (generally a weekend afternoon in June), assist with camp load-in and set-up (Sunday before camp) and attend all days of camp (Monday – Friday, 8:45 am to 4:45 pm).

Prospective summer camp volunteers and interns can fill out our online Volunteer Application Form. If you would like more information about volunteer opportunities at camp, contact us at or leave us a voicemail at 705-775-7057.

Outside of camp, we always need help with tasks like fundraising, promotion, researching and developing new programs and repairing gear. Musical experience is not a requirement. Please contact us for more information.

It takes a lot of gear to run Rock Camp! We are always in need of electric guitars and basses, keyboards, drums, amps, cables, tuners, stands, PA equipment and other rock ‘n roll accessories. If you have musical equipment that you can lend or donate to RC4G, please contact us.

Cash donations will be used to enhance our programming, purchase equipment and provide financial assistance to campers who cannot afford to pay full fees for summer camp or other RC4G activities. You can make a donation online on any page of this site. Donations can also be mailed or dropped off to us at Sadleir House, 751 George St. N., Peterborough, K9H 3T2. Please make cheques payable to RC4G Peterborough. If you would like your donation to be directed toward a specific need, let us know.
